The 2025 International Scientific Meeting of the ICOMOS Committee on Cultural Routes (CIIC) aims to explore the behavior of cultural routes, how they are affected by their environment, and ways to safeguard them for future generations.

This year’s ICOMOS CIIC Meeting will contribute to the ever-evolving discussions on cultural heritage with a study of the mutual influences at play between cultural routes and biocultural territory. It aims to highlight the multi-layered interpretation of cultural routes and discuss the challenges linked to their safeguarding through shared dialogues and actions, digital preservation, resilience, and local community involvement.

Participants to the event are invited to submit abstracts on the following themes:

  • The Past, Present, and Future of Cultural Routes: Learnings from Shared dialogues and Actions;
  • Routes of Cultural Significance in Digital Spaces;
  • Routes at Risk: Building Resilience for Preserving Legacies.

Abstracts must be sent to ciicicomos.org@gmail.com before 24 October. Please note that the authors of the selected abstracts will imperatively need to submit their full papers in English.
