Internship

The Steinbrück collection

The Netherlands Architecture Institute recently acquired two boxes with a unique collection of drawings and plans of public buildings, ink drawings of local houses, designs for furniture, as well as a substantial number of photos and reports, all dating back to the 1920s and early 1930s.

It is the collection of a German architect H. Steinbrück, who worked for the German government in China and for the Dutch government in the Dutch East Indies (now: Indonesia).

The NAi is looking for a student interested in architecture of the former Dutch colonies and willing to make an inventory and do research on this small, but unique collection. The estimated period required for this internship is three months. As the written material is in German, (passively) knowledge of the German language is recommended.

The NAi has arrangements for internship allowances.
