The official criterion for ICOMOS membership is that members are ‘actively engaged in the conservation of monuments, groups of buildings or sites’. Membership of ICOMOS is thus open to all persons who have a professional interest in the broad field of cultural heritage conservation, or to persons who are involved or interested in these fields, whether from a scientific, a technical, an administrative or a political angle are welcome.
Members of ICOMOS Netherlands are also members of ICOMOS International. ICOMOS-members receive the semiannual ICOMOS International Newsletter and are welcome to visit the ICOMOS Documentation Centre in Paris.
Application
New members can apply for membership through a national committee. Candidates for membership (Dutch citizens or professionals active in the Netherlands) can apply via the Dutch bureau. Applicants need to fill out a membership application form.
Members’ data are entered in the national database of ICOMOS Netherlands and in the expert database of ICOMOS International in Paris. In case your qualify and are interested, ICOMOS might occasionally appeal to your expertise in matters of international advice, monitoring or emergency help.

Contribution
The contribution for 2012 for members of ICOMOS Netherlands is € 85,00. Member under 30 years of age are granted fifty percent reduction.
To support the international ICOMOS network ICOMOS Netherlands pays about half of its income generated through contributions to ICOMOS International.
ICOMOS card
ICOMOS members receive an individual ICOMOS card. This card is renewed annually and send out before the beginning of a new calendar year.
Upon being presented the ICOMOS card many heritage institutions, including museums, grant visitors free entrance or a discount. Please note that free access or a discount is a privilege granted by each individual institute and that no claims can be made when this privilege is not granted.
Also note that an institution that grants free access or a discount may ask you to present an ID.
